In 2019, China was by far the leading ceramic tile manufacturer worldwide, producing roughly 5.2 billion square meters of ceramic tile that year. India was the second largest producer, at 1.27 billion square meters that year. It has been estimated that about 30% of the daily production in the ceramic industry goes as waste(Tiles, toilets, table ware).

Reclaim is a material research that looks into ceramic waste from a small studio based in Rotterdam, in collaboration with Studio Lotte Douwes. Which resulted in a porcelain tableware with recycled stoneware.
